Eric Rose: Collaborator

Eric Rose is an award-winning director, deviser, playwright, educator, and the Artistic Director of Calgary’s acclaimed Ghost River Theatre. His work is characterized by a striking audio-visual aesthetic that embraces the impossible; constantly reframing and rediscovering what theatre is and is capable of. Mr. Rose’s passion for the creative process has inspired the diversity of his theatrical experience spanning large scale contemporary and classical theatre, site-specific and immersive performance, experiential design, installation, performance creation, devising theatre, new play development, physical theatre, and dance. As a sought-after teacher, Mr. Rose has shared his unique approach to theatrical creation with professionals and students all over the world. He has taught for the Young Vic in London, Prague Quadrennial of Performance and Design, Kathy Knowles Theatre Company in Accra, Revolutions International Festival in Albuquerque, across Canada and at various post-secondary institutions and festivals. Mr. Rose has been honoured to be the Playwright in Residence at Alberta Theatre Projects, to be named to Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 and to have received the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Artist Award for his body of work as a theatrical innovator.

 

Lisa Anita Wegner: Collaborator

Lisa Anita Wegner is a mid-career multimedia artist, who creates immersive film based universes. She has partnered with arts organizations such as ArtworxTO, Summerworks, Nuit Blanche, Partners In Art, Long Winter Arts, Rendezvous With Madness, Montreal World Film Festival & Florence Contemporary Gallery. Wegner’s 2022 Public Art project Intangible Adorations Caravan received support from Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, City of Toronto, with private investments from Partners In Art and the National Creation Fund. Over the past twenty years, Lisa has gained renown for her film, performance and multi-sensory immersive environments. In 2018 she was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, an invisible and severe disability. Lisa considers it the entry point of pure creative potential.

GestureTek’s multi-patented video gesture control technology lets users engage multimedia content, access information, manipulate special effects, and even immerse themselves in an interactive virtual world – simply by moving their hands or body. We deliver Kinect-like gesture-control without the need to wear, hold or touch anything. In the past 30 years, GestureTek has installed well over 8,000 interactive multimedia displays, kiosks, exhibits, digital signs and advertisements, virtual gaming systems and other interactive surface computing solutions, many with multi-touch interactivity. 

 

Lisa McKeown: Research Assistant/ Producer

Lisa McKeown is an academic and an emerging artist. She received her PhD in 2021 from the New School for Social Research in philosophy, with a focus on the intersections of feminism, language, and ethics. Bringing the lens of Ordinary Language Philosophy to bear on everything from Nanette, Mad Max: Fury Road, the Barbie movie, and more recently, Fleabag, she is increasingly known for her incisive critical analysis of interpretive theory and how women are portrayed in media. As an emerging comedian and artist, she explores these themes in her creative work, and has performed at The Comedy Bar, GAF comedy, and even the occasional philosophy conference.
